We also have a 1 YEAR ALL-INCLUSIVE TRAINING PARTNERSHIP, which may be a really fun option for some clients! I grew up in Bowie, Maryland…and I’ve lived in Maryland for most of my life. I spent 16 years as a high school teacher in both Maryland (3 years) and Orlando, Florida (13 years). I also spent 7 of those 16 years coaching high school lacrosse at the two schools I worked at. During the final 5-6 years of my teaching career (before I decided to transition to working with families and their dogs full time), I began developing a deep love and passion for dog training and behavioral modification as I navigated through my own journey with my first German Shepherd, Fonso (major leash aggression, difficulty socializing with other dogs, etc.) I was teaching full-time and working with dogs part-time in the evenings (dog walking, training neighbor’s dogs, and working at a board & train facility in Orlando) and I became very interested in switching to a full-time dog training career…but I wanted to learn more…study more…practice more…help more people. Eventually I decided to take the risk switching from being a full-time high school teacher to a full-time professional dog trainer. The switch to this specific career has been one of my favorite decisions I’ve ever made in my life, but it wasn’t easy…and running a business is not easy either…but all of this is so special to me. I am incredibly grateful each day that I have the opportunity to do what I do, and I hope to support other FUTURE TRAINERS whose passion for dog training is already brewing (Reach out if that’s you 👍 !)
Aside from the work I do as a trainer and my time with our 4 dogs…I love playing card games and watching movies with my wife and kids, working on DIY projects (fence, chicken coop, etc.), creating music & playing the piano, watching Commanders games with my boys.
So…here we are now, in 2025…and I’ve been working with some amazing clients and their dogs for close to 4 years since we moved up to Frederick. As the Director of Operations at Confetti Dogs, I work alongside my husband, John, the founder and head dog trainer, to ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. While I’m not directly involved in training dogs, my role is primarily in supporting the day-to-day operations, helping our team focus on delivering exceptional results for our clients and their amazing pups.
Outside of work, I have a deep love for animals of all kinds. When I’m not helping John, you’ll often find me hanging with our four boys, enjoying the garden, tending to my plants, caring for our chickens, or experimenting with watercolor painting. I’m also an avid beekeeper, and overall I just enjoy the peaceful rhythm of working with nature. These passions help me stay grounded and inspired as we continue our mission to help dogs and their families thrive.
